Maritime Radio Classes
The Cruising Club of Switzerland CCS offers various classes in your region that lead to either the Long Range Certificate (LRC) or Short Range Certificate (SRC). As an attractive alternative, you can also book onboard courses on one of your yachts. This lets you gain experience for High Sea Licence examination.

Concession Rights for Radio Systems on Ocean-Going Yachts.
Anyone who operates radio systems on an ocean-going yacht is part of the international mobile maritime radio service. Under international radio regulations, concession rights are required for this. You need to have passed the maritime radio examination before BAKOM will issue concession rights.

Does your equipment meet the following requirements? If so then you can use Bernradio’s data services without any difficulty.
- Marine radio system consisting of transceiver and aerial (at least 100W)
- Pactor modem
- International callsign and user account with login to Bernradio
- Any computer with a serial interface or USB connection to a serial adapter
- Any operating system
- Any e-mail programme
- Any Internet browser
- Optional: Telnet and/or FTP services
